Since the movie came out last week, my husband and I have gone out to see "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Seeing any movie that many times in a movie theater is quite extravagant for us. We used seeing the movie a second time as leverage, at my suggestion, for me to work hard on my dissertation. The condition I set was that given I finish or come close to finishing work on the third chapter of my dissertation, we would go. Got pretty close to finishing, I did. In fact, I didn't go to bed this past Monday until I e-mailed the completed revised third chapter to my dissertation adviser. Back to the movie, I absolutely adored it. I thought all the actors performed extremely well. I was especially pleased with the person who played the character of Lucy. She's so young, yet such a great actor. I'm ever eager to see the movie again, but I will probably have to wait until it comes out on video/DVD.
I know, I know, this is nothing resembling a movie review. But, I prefer to be childlike and mysterious in my estimation of the film. Simply put, I love the movie. But, I am also heavily biased by the fact that I love C. S. Lewis's writings and I am a lover of animals.
